Jetinder Shergill
Term until 28th May 2026
I started my career in Whitehall as a government lawyer where I dealt with miscarriage of justice compensation claims amongst other things; and I have a long history in regulatory law as well. My most relevant experience is with the Solicitors Regulation Authority where I dealt with mortgage fraud compensation claims, and breaches of the solicitors’ accounts rules. I have also dealt with cases relating to accountancy/audit regulators (ACCA, FRC); and most recently chairing MPTS/GMC panels as a legally-qualified chair. I am a member of the Institute of Directors and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. I have worked on various decision-making bodies and panels throughout my career both as a panellist and chair. I joined the board to bring my general professional experience from a varied legal career, though I am not acting in my capacity as a barrister for this role. I see my role as being constructive, collegiate, and acting in the best interests of the membership and coop.

I am a member of both Coop 4 and Derril Water.
